t4t refuge - POSTPONED
facilitated peer support group for trans* and nonbinary adults residing in California
12-week closed group occurring weekly on Tuesdays 1:00 - 2:30pm on HIPPA compliant Zoom
As anti-trans violence and hatred gathers, I believe it is vital that we create and inhabit spaces that allow us to gather ourselves, connect around shared experiences, appreciate the beautiful differences among us, and hold each other in community. The purpose of this group is to build community and connect around themes of trans and nonbinary experience.
I aim for the group to contain multitudes of difference across the spectrum and intersections of trans experience. Multiply marginalized folks are especially welcome.
Themes we may explore include:
- fear, grief, and anger related to anti-trans violence
- gender dysphoria and euphoria
- intersectional experiences of transness and transphobia
- processes of transitioning socially, medically, etc
- gender identity exploration
- navigating systems and systemic responses to trans-ness

Sliding Scale

- $240 / cycle total (12 weeks)
Tier 2 - middle class rate
- $50 / session (1 week)
- $200 / month (4 weeks)
- $600 / cycle total (12 weeks)
Tier 3 - owning/managerial class rate
- $80/ session (1 week)
- $320 / month (4 weeks)
- $960 / cycle total (12 weeks)
Group fees should feel like an investment, and should not feel like a hardship - you should not have to give up things you need (food, housing, transportation, etc) in order to choose this. You may experience some discomfort, and you may need to give up some things you want (dining out, investing in stock, shopping, etc).
I offer a sliding scale to create a point of access for folks who may not traditionally be able to afford the cost of group therapy. Clients who pay the Tier 2 and Tier 3 rates make it possible for me to offer lower fees to those who need it. The class categories and resources below are provided as guidelines to support decision-making - ultimately I trust you to let me know what you can afford to pay. I find these resources helpful in understanding economic class and sliding scale:
